The activated carbon is featured before and after the fans within the product, to help reduce noise produced by the fans themselves. The inclusion of the 30 pounds of granular material aids in noise reduction.

The ‘inverted bathtub” design of a commercial hood enables effluent plumes to be held until they are drawn into the filter section.
Modern conventional hoods present a flat bottom to the rising effluent. When the effluent hits the bottom of the hood it spreads and spills over the edges and mixes with air through out the home.
